Thematic Areas are online workshops on a range of subjects, from specific to broad, including projects around particular Terra Madre themes. They were created to nurture communication among network members and to facilitate collaboration between diverse parts of the world, as well as collect resources and give visibility to the issues that affect food production and consumption.
Once a theme is initiated, a group of participants from relevant backgrounds is formed—producers, regional authorities, academics, scientists, cooks, etc. Together they choose a goal for their project and organize their efforts accordingly.
Each thematic area features a brief description of the participants, a resource center on the subject matter, the edited content that is produced by the group, and a discussion forum.
